CBT is a therapeutic approach that systematically analyzes and corrects the way we think which directly effects our mood and the way we behave.
HOW IT WORKS
Therapists work with the patient to assess their thought processes, distortions and thinking errors, automatic negative thoughts and irrational perceptions which interfere with daily functioning and our lives. Therapists assist the patient to correct their negative thought processes to perceive the world more accurately, feel better and cope with their daily lives and relationships more effectively.

This therapeutic approach explores the underlying mechanisms, causal factors, and patterns that exist during the patient’s interactions with others, often replaying the themes of childhood and family relationships. These patterns may be destructive and repetitive which are reexamined and resolved during the process of therapy in a supportive and interpretive environment.

A Psychodynamic approach enriches the patient’s life and allows the patient to progress in a healthy and growing manner to achieve a more highly developed and satisfying pattern of relationship interaction in their family and marriage.
Marital and Couple Therapy
WHAT IT IS
Marital and Couple Therapy involves both spouses working together with a Psychologist to identify, express, and resolve conflicts regarding communication, sexual difficulties, intimacy, and improving the relationship.
HOW IT WORKS
The Psychologist sees both spouses to identify the conflicts and work towards a resolution to improve marital and couple intimacy, communication, connection, increase shared activities , to facilitate marital satisfaction and promote a long lasting trusting bond. Challanges with work stress raising children, financial pressures offen create undue stress on marriages and relationships. Conflict resolution and enhancing the relationship rather than divorce are often goals.
Family Systems Counseling
WHAT IT IS
This counseling approach examines the structure and interactions of the entire family system as the family works together to listen and understand each other’s unique needs and feelings in a supportive and mediated manner.
HOW IT WORKS
Family therapy allows the patient to understand the family of origin historical patterns that reflect a multigenerational style of interaction among family members. Family systems counseling allows the family to develop new productive methods of communication and behavior to live in a more harmonious manner.

Deep muscle relaxation, guided visual imagery are utilized to to enhance relaxation and a feeling of calmness to reduce stress and to assist in achieving a healthy balance.
