Substance Abuse Overview

There is increasing evidence of genetic and familial patterns which predispose some individuals to substance abuse and dependence more significantly than others. If your drinking patterns or use of addictive substances are occurring on a daily basis, interfere with work or relationships, significant others perceive your use as interfering with daily functioning, you may need to seek assistance. The Center can provide careful assessment, therapeutic intervention, medication (if indicated) and coordinated care with substance abuse groups.
