Depression and Anxiety effect children in a variety of ways that may differ from Adults. Children often demonstrate symptoms of depression such as : quiet mood, withdrawal, sadness, aggitation, argumentative disposition, or short tempered behavior. Anxiety may be evidenced by school refusal, social isolation or difficulty making friends, physical symptoms -stomach or headaches, test anxiety, or sleep problems. Parents often feel at a loss regarding the best way of dealing with a child’s moodiness, sadness,anxiety,or behavior issues. Parents often need support and strategies to assist their child to feel better and reengage in a healthy life at home, with friends and in school .

Early Assesment and Psychotherapeutic and or Psychiatric Intervention are the most effective approaches to preventing more serious depression, anxiety, and behavior problems.
