Dr. Lana Borin is an Adult and Geriatric psychiatrist with more than 20 years of clinical practice. Dr. Borin is experienced in multiple areas of psychiatry, diagnosing and treating patients with Mood disorders, Bipolar Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Panic Disorders, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective Disorders, Attention Deficit Disorder. Dr. Borin specializes in diagnosing and treatment of Cognitive Deficits and different types of Dementia. Dr. Borin was trained as a Psychiatrist at the University of Maryland, where she completed her Adult Psychiatry residency and Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship.
Throughout her 20 years of work as a staff psychiatrist at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, and as a consultant for Levindale Rehabilitation Center, she accumulated extensive experience working in various settings including an outpatient mental health clinic, partial hospitalization program, substance abuse rehabilitation program, consultation-liaison services for medical and dementia units. Dr. Borin also treated patients with Eating disorders on the inpatient unit at Sheppard Pratt Hospital, patients with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder at the VA Medical Center of Baltimore, and provided inpatient, outpatient, and consultation services at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Dr. Borin provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management with an individual and integrative approach, paying close attention to behavioral and somatic issues. She is deeply devoted to providing efficient, high-quality care for the patients and enjoys educating patients regarding their conditions and treatment options.
Dr. Borin has excellent interpersonal skills, approaching patients with emotional support, warmth, and a desire to understand their issues. Dr. Borin has published peer-reviewed articles in psychiatric journals on the topics of depression and memory problems in elderly patients. Dr. Borin is bilingual in English and Russian.
